Salinas, California (Thursday, September 12, 2019) – US RaceTronics arrived yesterday at famed WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with high expectations for a successful weekend at their ‘home’ track. The Southern California based team will have a large contingent of sponsors, family and friends onsite to cheer them on in the final U.S. leg of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North American championship and is eager to repeat their successes at Virginia International Raceway.

The ProAm duo of Damon Ockey and Jacob Eidson captured an overall podium spot at VIR in addition to winning both of their class races in the No. 09 Lamborghini of Vancouver. The pair are looking to carry that momentum into this weekend’s event with hopes of another one or two overall podium finishes. They are also looking to sweep the weekend and earn their eight and ninth wins of the season and capture the North American ProAm championship title.

Steven Aghakhani also had a win in the final race at VIR and is expecting to carry that momentum into a track that he’s had success at in the past. Aghakhani won his class at last year’s Blancpain endurance race and is confident that his knowledge of the track as well as the momentum he’s bringing in will carry him to the top of the AM podium once again. He also has his sights set on an overall podium and feels this track is the perfect place to achieve that goal in his No. 6 Lamborghini of Beverly Hills.

Ron Atapattu and Patrick Liddy are also coming off a great weekend in the No. 24 Elephantea Lamborghini of La Jolla. The pair took two second-place finishes in the ProAm class at VIR, giving them second-place finishes in every race they’ve participated in since pairing up for Race 2 at Road America. The pair is looking for their fourth and fifth straight podiums this weekend.

The team is participating in today’s promoter test in addition to the full IMSA weekend schedule which kicks off tomorrow, Friday, September 13th at 8:40 a.m. PDT with practice session 1 and practice session 2 at 12:30 p.m. PDT. Qualifying is also Friday afternoon starting at 4:35 p.m. PDT. Race 1 goes green Saturday morning at 11:20 a.m. PDT, while Sunday’s race starts at 9:25 a.m. PDT.

Jacob Eidson – “After having a very strong performance at VIR with Damon I hope to carry that momentum into Laguna. It’s been a while since I’ve raced at Laguna but it’s also one of my favorite tracks. I grew up playing video games and watching old races at Laguna Seca which has always made this track special to me and I’m excited to see what the weekend holds!”

Damon Ockey – “We have had an exceptional season so far. The team has been great in preparing a perfect car for every race. Our success has come from reducing any race drama; our number one goal has been to protect the race car while driving hard. Jacob has been fast and we have made a really good team. It’s been a pleasure to drive and learn from him.”

Steven Aghakhani – “I would like to keep my momentum after winning the VIR. Moreover, Laguna Seca is the race I have been looking forward to all year in this series, this track is one of my favorites and I won the 8hrs Blancpain endurance race at this track last year in Huracan Super Trofeo.  Therefore, I am expecting a very good result from the race weekend.”

Ron Atapattu – “Going for our fourth straight podium finish for Elephantea Lamborghini San Diego #24. It’s been fun driving with Patrick and I’m really looking forward to having another great weekend at Laguna Seca.”

Patrick Liddy – “I am very excited to be joining Ron Attapatu and Elephantea Racing for the final North American round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Season. Laguna Seca is the home race for our team so I’m looking forward to having some familiar faces around the paddock and finding more success at this historic track!”

Shane Seneviratne – “Well, this is going to be the last track for the U.S. rounds and it’s our home race, so we’re looking forward to a good race weekend. We’ve got quite a bit of support from family, friends, fans and sponsors at this event. Everyone’s looking forward to performing well. The team’s excited to have the opportunity to give the drivers good cars and to get good results for the weekend.”
