New Partnerships, New Sponsors & New Driver Lineup Debut at Season Opener

US RaceTronics has a few exciting changes in store as they return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North American series paddock for their seventh consecutive season. The team will field five cars at the upcoming season opener at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca; not unusual as this is considered the Southern California based team's home track.

The first change of 2022 has the team joining forces with two icon brands, O’Gara Motorsport and Change Racing. They will compete under the new O’Gara Motorsport / Change Racing / USRT brand. Change Racing brings 18 titles, including 4 North American Pro titles and 4 World Championships, along with the most race and class wins in the North American series to the partnership. That, coupled with the managerial strengths and on-track successes of US RaceTronics and O'Gara Motorsport, will make the new combined team a force to be reckoned with for the upcoming season.

The team is also extremely excited to announce several new sponsors for 2022. Arrow Electronics, with successes in both Formula 1 and INDYCAR, will be joining the team for their first foray into sportscar racing with sponsorship on the No. 50 Lamborghini of Beverly Hills Pro entry driven by former World Champions Edoardo Piscopo and Patrick Kujala. Arrow will also sponsor the No. 33 Lamborghini of Charlotte LB Cup entry driven by 2021 LB Cup World Champion John Hennessy.

Additional sponsors include VF Engineering who will be sponsoring the No. 8 Lamborghini of San Diego Pro Am entry driven by Damon Ockey and Patrick Liddy. MexiWood / Dakine will sponsor the No. 13 Lamborghini of Rancho Mirage LB Cup entry which will be driven by Ofir Levy and Jon Hirshberg. The team's fifth entry will be the No. 44 Lamborghini of Nashville AM entry sponsored by Hexacoretech and driven by rookie Ricco Shlaimoun.

While the team will be sporting a new logo, most of the US RaceTronics crew along with several past drivers will be returning.

Most of all, I am delighted to have John Hennessy, Ofir Levy, Jon Hirshberg, and Patrick Liddy back for another season with our team and want to welcome back Damon Ockey, Edoardo Piscopo, and Patrick Kujala. It is great to put the team back together. I'm also looking forward to having rookie Ricco Shlaimoun joining the team and am expecting great results this season ” - Shane Seneviratne, Team Principal, US RaceTronics
“I’m really excited to be partnering with Eddie Littlefield and bringing our two race teams together. But the most exciting part is having Arrow Electronics join Lamborghini Super Trofeo. For Arrow Electronics, a world-class technology company that’s involved in racing at all levels including Formula One and IndyCar, to join us is a real honor.” - Tom O'Gara, Owner, O'Gara Coach
"I am excited to announce and be a part of this new collaboration between Change Racing and O’Gara Motorsport. Tom O’Gara and I are thrilled to continue our support of the iconic Lamborghini brand. With five dealerships between the two of us, we know how incredible these cars are. I can’t wait to get this new combined effort on track. This partnership in racing will be operated by US RaceTronics and I look forward to another championship season!!" - Eddie Littlefield, Owner, Change Racing
“I am always made fun of my retirement from racing, clearly it was short-lived. The Evo 2 is such a beautiful car, when I saw it I simply could not resist. Racing Lambos with another World Champ such as Patrick Kujala and representing amazing brands like Arrow and O’Gara, feels the best way to make a comeback. Laguna Seca can’t come soon enough. Ciao” - Edoardo Piscopo, COO O'Gara Motorsport & Driver No. 50 Arrow Electronics Pro Car
"Really excited for this year's program together with USRT. Delighted to be part of this team and we will try to start the season the best way possible and try to carry that momentum for the rest of the season." - Patrick Kujala, Driver, No. 50 Arrow Electronics Pro Car
"After two years off from Lamborghini ST, I’m really looking forward to co-driving with Liddy in the amazing VF Engineering EVO2. As always, USRT is working hard to be ready for the season opener at Laguna. So far it looks as if we have some strong competition. It’s going to come down to our team executing flawlessly and my own preparedness, I’ve gone from 10 to 12 sit-ups per day. Seriously though, I have a great team with USRT, a fast co-driver with Liddy and an amazing sponsor with VF Engineering. Whatever happens we will have the best-looking car on the grid." - Damon Ockey, Driver, No. 8 VF Engineering Pro Am Car
“I am very excited for the opportunity to race the VF Engineering Super Trofeo EVO2. I will join Damon Ockey for a championship fight in the ProAm class, and we have solid backing with Shane and the team at O’Gara Motorsport and US Racetronics. We have had some epic battles at Laguna Seca in the past and I am looking forward to a great season opener.” - Patrick Liddy, Driver, No. 8 VF Engineering Pro Am Car
“I am very grateful to be joining Ofir Levy in Super Trofeo this year. We have been working hard in the off season to improve and I am looking forward to putting our work to the test at our home track here at Laguna Seca. “How lucky are we to go racing in the new Lamborghini EVO 2 at Laguna Seca Raceway for the 2022 season opener! My goal is to take my 2021 "lessons learned" and translate that into a winning season that represents the incredible dedication and world class support the entire US RaceTronics provides. Shane has assembled an incredible group of amazingly talented drivers and I'm honored to be a part of this exciting season!" - John Hennessy, Driver, No. 33 Arrow Electronics LB Cup Car
“After being out of the car for such a long time, I'm so excited to be racing Lamborghini Super Trofeo with O'Gara Motorsport/Change Racing/USRT this season. The team is like my extended family and we all help one another push our boundaries in order that we can all grow together. I feel confident it's going to be a great fit for me and will do my very best to deliver the results expected." - Ricco Shlaimoun, Driver, No. 44 Hexacoretech AM Car
About US RaceTronics

US RaceTronics (USRT) was founded by Shane Seneviratne in 2005 to compete in the Atlantic Championship, a formula race car series. The team finished 5th in points its first year and continued its success during the succeeding years, ultimately amassing a total of 21 podiums, 7 poles, 5 race wins and finishing 3rd in the 2009 Atlantic Championship. USRT was put on hold after series officials announced the Atlantic Series was put on hiatus.

Seneviratne fully returned to racing in 2015 after receiving an invitation to manage the O’Gara Motorsport entries in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North American (LBSTNA) Series. The team won the Team Championship, Dealership Championship, Pro Championship and Amateur Championship that season.

The success of 2015 reignited Seneviratne's passion for racing and he relaunched US RaceTronics to compete in the 2016 LBSTNA Series. The team has won multiple North American and World Championships and expects to add to their success as they enter their seventh season in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North American Series.
