Driver Misha Goikhberg, alongside Pro co-driver Loris Spinelli finished P9 at Laguna Seca Raceway. The ninth-place finish was the fourth top-ten finish this year for the No. 78 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 squad.
Starting in P11, Misha was behind the wheel. Within the first 20 minutes, Misha moved into ninth position, which he held until Loris’ stint, who jumped to fifth position. Incidents on course meant a drop back to P9.
“Our weekend at Laguna Seca was challenging. Even though we couldn’t score a podium finish, I’m happy to come away from the weekend with another top ten finish,” said Loris.
“Free practice went really well; it was the first time we were P1 this year. It’s never easy because all the times are so close this year, but we were able to continue the progress on the car. Only a few tenths separated the top ten cars. It just shows how competitive the GTD field is.”
“Unfortunately a contact during the race compromised a much better result. The cars at the top of the field are very competitive and any minimal race mistake compromises the end result”.
“I would have loved to have scored a podium, but I’m still happy to get another top ten finish. Once again, the Forte Racing by USRT crew did a phenomenal job all weekend and gave us a strong car. These last few sprint races have been solid, but I am definitely looking forward to the six-hour enduro at Watkins Glen”.
The next race will be the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen on Sunday, June 25th.
